Over 2.4 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally. More than 200 countries across the world have declared war on this invisible enemy. But no one has managed to defeat it yet.Coronavirus can only be contained if those infected are successfully isolated and treated. These apps use the phone’s Bluetooth technology to determine if a given user came in close proximity with an infected person.

A number of private and government entities have released apps and software development kits (SDKs) relying on location tracking data to help tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. While the use of such technologies are being hotly debated, commentary continues to emerge from the EU about developing such applications in compliance with EU data protection laws.
