The on-demand economy shows no signs of slowing down. According to Rockbridge Associates, since 2016, the on-demand economy has increased by 66%, and an estimated 41.5 million consumers purchased on-demand goods or services in 2017. And, in 2019, the on-demand economy rose to $110 billion.

As uncertainty continues to grow around the coronavirus pandemic and life in seclusion mounts, so has the level of stress and anxiety for many consumers. Popular health and wellness apps are now offering free services to help people cope in the midst of unprecedented times. Meditation app Headspace announced it is offering free premium services to all U.S. health care professionals working in public health through 2020.
